Grade II Listed Castle Grove, located in Headingley close to Leeds city centre, is one of the finest examples of an unspoilt Victorian Grand Villa in the country.

Fully licensed and catered, Castle Grove provides the perfect setting for your wedding, reception, private or corporate event or meeting. Our friendly team is on hand to ensure your event runs smoothly.

We are in the process of refurbishing our rooms, revamping our menus and refreshing this website starting Spring 2026, so some images and information may be subject to change. Kindly bear with us as we make Castle Grove even better.

Castle Grove is a beautiful, historic 19th Century Manor House located in the leafy suburb of Headingley, just a few miles north of Leeds city centre.

Castle Grove is one of Headingley’s most elegant historic houses, dating back to 1834. Originally built as a gentleman’s residence for linen merchant Samuel Holmes, the property was subsequently transformed in the late Victorian era into a grand villa with sweeping staircases, bay windows, and a striking domed roof. Its beautifully preserved architectural details — from marble columns to ornate woodwork — reflect the prosperity and craftsmanship of the era, giving the venue its distinctive sense of character and charm.

In 1934 the building entered a new chapter, becoming the home of several Leeds Masonic Lodges. This long period of careful stewardship ensured that the house remained intact at a time when many similar villas were lost. Today, Castle Grove is a Grade II listed building and one of the country’s best-preserved examples of Victorian domestic architecture.

Available as a distinctive wedding, conference and events venue, Castle Grove blends historic grandeur with modern comfort. Guests can enjoy the richness of the original interiors alongside adaptable, stylish spaces suitable for all manner of celebrations, corporate events, meetings and private hire. Boardroom

cosy & intimate - up to 10 guests

We understand that not everyone wants a big fuss. Our smallest room is ideal for cosy, intimate weddings. Have your Wedding Ceremony with a select group of friends and family without feeling lost in a larger room. There’s always the option of a bigger Reception in one of our other function rooms.

Oak Room

stately but understated - up to 50 guests

The Oak Room, with its stunning white & gold ornate ceiling and soon to be refurbished, is ideal for Wedding Ceremonies. Small enough to be intimate; large enough to accommodate up to 60 guests for your Wedding Ceremony and / or Reception.

White Room

newly refurbished - up to 40 guests

The White Room has been completely refurbished in January 2026 and offers a luxurious and classically decorated room for your Wedding Ceremony and / or Reception.

Ballroom

weddings & receptions - up to 200 guests

The Ballroom is the perfect place for larger Wedding Ceremonies and / or Receptions. Accommodating up to 200 guests depending on your required seating plan, eat, drink and dance the night away in our beautiful Ballroom.

Our two, fully-stocked bars and fully-equipped kitchen can provide refreshments ranging from teas and coffees and light snacks through to fully-catered banquets. Rooms are also available for hire without catering or bar service but outside catering and drinks are not permitted.

The small Board Room can be configured in the round or to your preferences and accommodates 12 people comfortably in a Boardroom style, or 10 in a Theatre style. Perfect for interviews and smaller groups.

The Oak Room can be configured in a classic Boardroom style for up to 20 people, Cabaret style for up to 24 people, and Dinner or Theatre style for up to 60 people.

White Room

The White Room can be configured in a classic Boardroom style for up to 28 people, Cabaret style for up to 16 people, Dinner style for up to 40 people or Theatre style for up to 35 people.
